On Hollywood Road

Sheung Wan

Posted in Uncategorized by Alex Daye on July 16, 2009

Today we had a little pug party at the office, with neighbors Shankly and Lennon popping by to kill some of the very hot mid-afternoon with Waffles. The panting got a little intense, but it was totally worth it for the cute photo-ops!

In the meantime, Brandice and I hit the mean streets of Sheung Wan in search of shops for our new j.a.daye spin-off line called Moustache- about which much more to come. Luckily, due to the “economic tsunami”, there are plenty of options, all right around the corner from our tailor shop.

Which number to call?!?

Alas, thoughts drift in the blistering sun from retail to more aesthetic concerns, such as this amazing door on Upper Station Street…

And these two “dragons”, which don’t look so unlike Waffles, Shankly, and Lennon…

And this nice little shop selling lots of vintage cameras and cool knick-knacks from days gone.

And then back to business, and igniting our eco attitudes, of course.

And this author’s favorite, on vertigo-inducing Aberdeen Street, with a chic tile floor and rat-a-tat-tat ceiling fan, right next to the neighborhood gay bar. It’s all in Mr. Wong’s hands now though…

Where on earth is that “out of stock” shop? I’ve never seen it before – it looks very interesting!

It’s just down from Gough Street- not too sure the name of the road but it is super cute and worth a visit!
