Coming this Spring from Moustache
We are very excited to announce the arrival this Spring of a new printed matter project from us here at Moustache.
Our new title is called “&etc.” Think of it as a gazette from Hong Kong, or a pamphlet or maybe a periodical. We hope that it’s category will evade an easy description! As with our Guide book, we believe you will find the actual object desirable. Apart from the contents we are paying close attention to the paper, the binding and the way it is put together so that it is as pleasing to look at and hold as it is to peruse! The printing press business is truly alive and well in Hong Kong, right here in our neighbourhood of Sheung Wan. In fact all of our paper needs, from hang tags, to wrapping paper to our guide book are printed on Aberdeen street by the lovely Wood Lik printers 2 doors down from Moustache. We hope that &etc. will also serve to highlight the amazing resource that Hong Kong has in this small printing shop industry, in the same way that we hope our bespoke tailoring does for the last remaining handmade tailor workshops of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
&etc. will feature the writing, photography and illustration of collaborators that we find and are enthusiastic to share with you, Dear Reader. Each issue will be centered around a theme that we find relevant at the time. For our first we are working and giving a lot of thought to the word FOOD. The real subject that all of us obsess over in Hong Kong (even if the rest of the world thinks we are primarily concerned with money.)
It is not a magazine in the true sense that it will come out monthly or quarterly. As with all things at Moustache, it will come out according to our whims. Just like this journal, it will appear some times often and sometimes not. We only believe in putting things out when we have something to say after all.
We are very excited to be working on this new venture and can’t wait to hear your responses when we bring out the first issue this Spring. If you would like to know more about this project, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
