The Bearded Lady

Posted in Uncategorized by Alex Daye on April 20, 2012

We’ve been quiet about our latest project with Stiibu and Salon No.10, a monthly happening called The Bearded Lady, since it is our first foray into throwing a party that is not at our house or in our shop just in case the whole thing was a big old belly flop, but I am happy to report that it was quite the rousing success. Salon No. 10, which I’ve written about before, is a wonderful, warm space, the entertainment was sensational and what an attractive, well dressed and smart crowd!

Starting, obviously with my husband, our gracious host, Monsieur Kreuger, in a bit of glitter and tulle…

And the fabulously well-heeled Mr. Stuart Palm, who has made more than a few new believers in magic after last night, and the lovely Ms. Marie Bouveron tickling the ivories.

Best dressed couple in the house!

And how lucky we are to have met the amazing chanteuse Gigi and her trumpeting beau Danny DePoe (though he’s no mean songbird himself) literally the night before. Quite aside from the fact they blew everyone in the house away, they casually mentioned to us we might need a microphone (ya think?) and happily hooked us up. Our new best friends! Joining them on the piano, though sadly not in this picture was the wonderful Jim Schneider

Danny on the horn!

Clearly the best photo ever! And girls if you ever lose your turban mid-party, just grab Ms. Paola- she knows how to work a piece of fabric!

Julie Shah- who knew she had a secret sexy burlesque star inside? Seriously one of the high points of the night!

The Handsome Tabar brothers & Mr. Raoul Preller.

And Marie’s hair!

The hosts, looking a little razzle dazzled…

Yes, these photos were taken quite late…

Otherwise I wouldn’t be letting nobody bite my leg!

Seriously, a giant thanks to all that performed and all that came. I can’t believe how positive the reaction has been- we’re both over the moon and can’t wait until next month! Cha Cha Cha!
