Our First Sunday Lunch at Salon No.10

Posted in Uncategorized by Alex Daye on November 21, 2012

Last weekend we hosted the first of our Sunday Lunch series at Salon No.10: each Sunday we work with a different chef to present a new cuisine matched with a film. Lunch is served buffet style (with some made to order dishes) and guests sit at long banquet tables to facilitate conversation and making new acquaintances. Our first journey was to the Lebabnon of the divine Ms. Maria Bizri of Pomegranate Kitchen and, despite our nervousness, was a beautiful success. The crowd was a delightful mix of old and new friends, the food delicious and plentiful and the film, Caramel, the perfect way to relax after a big meal and a couple glasses of wine.

Here’s Ellis and Arnault from the super cool store Kapok;

Our fabulous chef Maria and our friend the dashing Mr. Paul Aziz;

Our dear friends Ed and Mark;

Our partner in Salon No.10 and other fantasies, Stefano;

And enjoying a Pomegranate Bellini with the super stylish GiGi;

Me and Marika hamming it up;

A quite glamorous couple!

Fattouche Salad;

Chickpeas, Yoghurt and Pinenuts Salad;

Hello crunchy roast potatoes!

And bonjour Eggs en Cocottes…

All happily prepared by Maria with our heroic bartender Mr. Tom;

Lovely Louise and Marika;

Giedre and Emma enjoy seconds in the lounge;

Guests tucking in;

And conversating;

Brendt and Claudia doing a bit of both;

Of course one can always take time out for a photo opportunity!

Rinat joined us for the apres-lunch cocktails hour…

And a wonderful photo of the first hostess at Salon No.10, the always glamorous Mai-Ling- perhaps we can look forward to some of her wonderful Northern Chinese Lunches in the not so far off future? For those of you who missed it, keep an eye out here: our next journey is with Ms. Bizri again, this time to Morocco. In December we have a wonderful Spanish menu planned and many more surprises. A word to the wise: RSVP early, with only forty seats, these lunches fill up fast! See you all soon…

Come to Sunday Lunch at Salon No. 10

Posted in Uncategorized by Alex Daye on November 14, 2012

We are very pleased to invite you to join us for our very first Sunday Lunch at Salon No. 10, a celebration of music, film and of course food from around the world, prepared in collaboration with some of Hong Kong’s finest and most talked about chefs. Each of our Sunday lunches at Salon 10 will combine vintage movies, music and a delicious buffet, all around a theme that will change each time as we visit a different locale and culture.

For our first outing, we are honored to be working with Ms. Maria Bizri, founder of Pomegranate Kitchen, as she takes us on a culinary journey to her native Lebanon, with a screening of the film Caramel and musical accompaniment by our friend from the Bearded Lady band, Mr. James Schneider.

These lunches are intimate affairs with room for a maximum of 40 guests and there is only one sitting. All bookings must be made by Friday afternoon, November 16. Lunch is served buffet style from 12:30 to 3:30 PM. After lunch, settle in for the afternoon with wine and convivial company; table-hopping and conversation are highly encouraged! The Salon will close at 6:30PM.

The cost of the Lunch is HKD350 per person and includes one complimentary drink; additional libations can be purchased from our extensive wine and bar menu.
